Grace Christian Academy Online Learning Academy (GCA-OLA) is an option for families who, even with all the preventative measures in place, do not feel comfortable sending their children to school. International students who are not able to attend GCA at this time due to travel restrictions are eligible to register for the GCA-OLA classes. GCA Online Learning Academy is delivered entirely virtually with GCA teachers providing real-time (synchronous) and self-paced (asynchronous) instruction. GCA-OLA offers online education for students in grades 6-12.

At both the Middle and High school levels, course offerings include core content courses and electives. The OLA will offer all courses required for graduation. Students will have a formal class schedule, and daily attendance will be taken. Students who enrolled in the GCA-OLA will be designated students at Grace Christian Academy and are eligible to participate in extracurricular activities such as athletics, and robotics. Parents must provide transportation to and from all events.

Enrollment is through an online application. Applications will be open July 22 – August 15, 2020, via the link below.   Students must remain in the online program for a minimum of one grading period before transitioning on- campus. Internet and computer access are required during the school day Monday through Friday.

Once enrolled, the following requirements must be met:

*The student will participate in all required coursework and online lessons during regular school hours.

*The student will participate in all tutoring sessions required by the teachers.

*For high school credited courses, students may need to take proctored major assessments on assigned days and times.

International students should inform the GCA international department of their travel plans when travel restrictions are lifted and make plans to attend on-campus instruction. International students who do not intend to return to the Houston campus for the duration of the 2020-2021 school year must notify the GCA International department of their intent by October 1, 2020.

K- 5 Virtual Education options 

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we have worked to provide an online option for our elementary students.  As you all know, the COVID-19 virus has forced schools across the country to look for innovative ways to educate children. Your GCA faculty and administration have been working diligently to provide you with an online option, and today we are ready to present it to you.

There are three things we will need from you:

  2. Attend the Virtual parent meeting on Monday, August 3, at 7 pm

  3. Register for either online or on-campus education by Tuesday, August 4, at 5 pm.
