Dual Credit

In association with Houston City College for grades 9-12, students may take college-level courses, which allow the student to earn both high school and college credit. Students taking dual credit courses are building two transcripts: the institution of higher education (IHE) transcript and the high school transcript. Students must be granted permission by GCA administration prior to registering for dual credit courses to earn both a unit for high school credit and college credit. Typically, students take two courses in the fall and two courses in the spring. Dual credit is available for any high school student who meets the requirements.
