TEFA Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to common questions based on official guidelines:

When does TEFA start? The TEFA applications are set to open in early 2026, with funds becoming available for the 2026–27 school year.
Can current GCA families apply for TEFA? Yes! Existing GCA students are eligible; however, they must meet the current priority tiers set for the TEFA to qualify.
Will GCA accept IEP, 504, or special needs students? Our goal at GCA is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students. However, we currently lack the resources and programs to meet all individual needs.  We accept special needs students on a case-by-case basis.  We are not able to provide all accommodations for students with specific learning and physical needs, nor do we fully implement any 504 plans or IEPs issued by other schools.
What if we're not selected for the TEFA? Priority tiers maximize access, but you may be placed on the waitlist.
Who covers the difference between the amount awarded by TEFA and GCA's tuition cost? Individual families are responsible for paying the difference between the awarded TEFA amount and GCA's tuition. This remaining amount can be divided into 10 monthly installments (August–May), as outlined in our tuition and fees document.
